Welcome to the world of Equine Assisted Therapy – situated at HorsePlay, a private and locally-based equestrian center for growth, development and instruction.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) incorporates horses experientially for emotional growth and learning.  The client experience is supported by a collaborative effort between a mental health practitioner and a horse specialist who work together to ensure safety and create meaningful and unique encounters.

Horses are wonderful teachers who meet you exactly where you are

At HorsePlay, we use a variety of horse “relationship” experiences to foster growth, self-awareness, and a deeper sense of self … all in an outdoor setting.  Working with horses offers a way to access one’s inner world with the added benefit of connecting to nature and its elements.

Equine Assisted Therapy can be done with individuals, parent/child, and with groups.  It is suitable for children, adolescents, and adults.  It has been used in diverse settings with diverse populations, producing impressive results.  This model uses only groundwork (no mounted experiences).  This naturally empowering approach is about connecting, inviting the client to explore a relationship with a horse in an unbound state and discover their own inner restrictions while accessing a more fluid and easeful way of being.

As we launch our team and services, we are offering 3 sessions at a special introductory rate.     Our goal is to make alternative treatments accessible. Sliding scale may be an option.

If you have insurance, we can provide receipts for reimbursement.

We look forward to working with you!
